Unless the declaration sets a different vote, it may be amended by a majority vote. A supermajority is required to create or increase special declarant rights, increase the number of lots, change allocations, extend the 7-year development clock, create more development rights, or (with listed exceptions) impose a more burdensome use restriction. An existing occupancy or use that started before the amendment is recorded is generally grandfathered.
