From 33% complete to all set, one small step at a time.
New members see a short checklist with a progress bar: confirm contact info, opt in to texts, register the vehicle, name an emergency contact. Real actions check items off automatically, skips count as answers, and the reminder disappears at 100%.

A portal only helps when the board can actually reach people through it. The setup checklist walks every member through the details that matter, one small step at a time, with a progress bar that makes finishing feel good. The goal is simple: when a pipe bursts at 2 a.m., the office has a current cell number, a text opt-in, and an emergency contact for every unit.
What does a member see at login?
A card at the top of the dashboard: profile completion, a percentage, and a Finish setup button. A member who has done part of the work might sit at 33%. Each finished step moves the number and drops a small celebration on screen. At 100% the member gets a welcome video, a You're all set message, and the card goes away for good.
What does the checklist cover?
Confirmed address, cell, and email. Text-message opt-in. A profile photo. Vehicle registration, down to the plate, the state, and a handicap flag that can drive special parking passes. Service animals. An emergency contact. Assigned parking or garage confirmation. Anything that doesn't apply gets skipped with one click, and a skip counts as an answer, so nobody gets asked twice about a service animal they don't have.
Why does text opt-in live here?
Carrier rules say a homeowners association (HOA) or condo community can't text members who never agreed to it. The checklist collects that agreement one member at a time, with the full consent language on screen, and logs it. When water is coming through a ceiling, the office can text the units below instead of hoping someone checks email.
What does the board get?
Reachable members, and proof. The dashboard shows average completion, and the Org Health report charts where members stall and lists incomplete profiles worst first. Every finished profile is one fewer door to knock on during an emergency.
How real communities use it
Condos: a 128-unit Florida condo watched completion climb as members finished one step at a time, starting from an average of 36%.
55+ communities: one item at a time proved friendlier than a five-page paper form.
Homeowners associations: vehicle and parking records fill themselves in without a single office phone call.

Reachable members are the whole point.
Every finished checklist is a current phone number, a text opt-in, and an emergency contact the office didn't have to chase. The portal does the asking so your board doesn't have to.
